What to see in Barruelo...

A route on foot or bike, is the Senda de la Pedrosa, about 3.8 km, which goes from Barruelo to Brañosera, through beautiful landscapes full of oak groves, parallel to the river you can see some ponds, horses and cattle, and ends in this beautiful village of stone houses. You can then go down parallel to the road (bike path) to save time on the way back, after taking an orujito or a caldito in the Bar Cueva del Cobre, or to go to eat at one of its restaurants. From the house you go through the Barrio Helechar, and from there you take a path where the village ends (always on the left side of the valley) that goes to the pool. But in case you get lost, you can also choose to go along the main road to the pool of Barruelo and from there and indicates the route, which is signposted.

The Visitable Mine is another highly recommended attraction. It is a guided tour. It is on the outskirts of Barruelo, on the way to Vallejo de Orbo. There is free parking. The entrance fee is also valid (highly recommended) for the Mine Museum, which is in the center of town.

The Ursi Trail: It is a beautiful route of about 12 km, recommended only for the more experienced walkers, because it has a considerable slope, which requires a minimum of fitness, and in which sculptures are seen in tribute to this master sculptor Barruelano. It starts three and a half kilometers from Barruelo, in Villabellaco, and crosses some beautiful landscapes that mostly form the Natural Park of Fuentes Carrionas and Fuente-Cobre, in the Montaña Palentina. NO BABY CARRIAGES, OF COURSE. Sorry. Ah, highly recommended if you organize well, stop for lunch at the Santuario del Carmen, where the route almost ends, and taste their good stews. Better to reserve. And if not, you can have a sandwich and eat at the viewpoint, before the descent to the sanctuary, according to taste and time.
